Kath Davies – Independent for Chisholm (2025)

In 2025, Kath Davies stood as the independent candidate for Chisholm, supported by a passionate, generous, and determined community of volunteers.

Kath4Chisholm was a community-led, volunteer-powered campaign. Over just 50 days, people from across the electorate came together to do something many had never done before: have thousands of conversations, show up for one another, and demonstrate what grassroots democracy can look like when it is driven by values, not party machinery.

At the heart of the campaign were everyday locals — students, parents, retirees, first-time campaigners and long-time advocates — giving their time, skills, energy, and care. The campaign was built on trust, collaboration, and the belief that communities deserve a stronger voice in our democracy.

A shared journey

The image Journey of a 50-day campaign, created by Caroline Gill, captures the spirit of Kath4Chisholm — the momentum, the learning, the relationships formed, and the collective effort that made the campaign possible. It reflects not just a political campaign, but a shared community experience.

Part of something bigger

Kath4Chisholm was part of the growing Community Independents movement across Australia — a movement showing that politics can be participatory, hopeful, and grounded in local voices. Campaigns like this are about more than elections; they are about strengthening civic confidence and community connection, whatever the outcome.

Why this site remains

This website remains online as a record of the 2025 campaign and to honour the volunteers and supporters who made it happen. The community of Chisholm is yet to commence selecting a candidate for the next federal election.
